Backtrace for Open Source
Backtrace offers our crash management platform for free to Open Source projects, subject to certain criteria and our own discretion.
Offering
Open Source projects that qualify will have access to Backtrace services with:
- Minidump integration, which includes Breakpad, Crashpad, and Electron
- Hosted SaaS
- 100 users
- 1,000 crashes/month
- 90-day retention cycle
Projects that exceed those volume limits, need access to our core dump analysis, or have additional deployment requirements (ex: on-premise deployment, SSO, custom data retention), will need to contact sales@backtrace.io for an enterprise pricing model.
Getting Started
- Sign up for your free 30-day trial of Backtrace
- Fill out this short survey to apply for the Open Source exemption
Our team will review your responses for an exemption within one week of submission. In the meantime, you can continue using Backtrace for free until we complete review.
Support
Users will primarily rely on documentation for support. Send bugs, feature requests, and other issues to support@backtrace.io.
Criteria
Backtrace has sole discretion about project qualification for the Open Source exemption. In addition to the usage limits detailed in the Offering, projects must have an open source license and cannot be sold commercially. The source of reported errors cannot come from commercial uses of the software. If you have any questions about qualification, contact sales@backtrace.io.
